Arkham Asylum's Soft Opening...

Heads up Bat-fans, we're heading to the insane house early this week.

For those who don't know, a new Batman game is coming out by the end of this month, and it's called Batman: Arkham Asylum. As the title implies, the Caped Crusader is trapped in Gotham's famous madhouse, and he's going to have to battle it out with the worst enemies he's incarcerated in there... all thanks to The Joker. In order to escape this nefarious situation, Batman will have to use his wits, skill, and all the tech and arsenal he has in his disposal to contend with classic villains like Bane, Scarecrow, and of course, The Joker himself. He won't be alone though, as he'll be getting support from some of his closest allies, which includes Commissioner Gordon and the ever reliable Oracle. Featuring stunning visuals, dynamic action, and stealth gameplay, this next generation console release by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Eidos Interactive Ltd. looks like the definitive Dark Knight experience, and as a fan, I wouldn't want to miss that.

Blogged over at Newsarama and Kotaku, Warner Bros. is giving an early treat to consumers by releasing a free demo of the hotly anticipated game this week. Arriving this Friday, August 7, gamers who own an Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 can download the game directly from their accounts in Xbox Live and Playstation Network respectively, while PC owners have to check the official website of the game, http://www.batmanarkhamasylum.com, for updates on how to grab the demo. Batman: Arkham Asylum officially arrives in store shelves this August 25.
