Star Wars: Original Trilogy characters will return for Episode VII

Since the BIG acquisition news of LucasFilm Ltd. by Disney for $4.05 Billion Dollars, the very next project and priority for the new merger is the next trilogy of Star Wars films. Confirmed for release on 2015, "Episode VII" already has a screenwriter on board in the form of Michael Arndt, who's credentials include Toy Story 3 and the next installment of The Hunger Games film series, Catching Fire. What was also rumored was that three of the key characters involved with the original Star Wars trilogy (Episode IV, V, and VI) were in talks to appear in the new "Disney era" film series, namely Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia Organa, and Han Solo. News from ENewsi and the Hollywood Reporter confirms that 2/3 of that trio will return.

It looks like Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher are set to reprise their roles as siblings Luke and Leia, as older versions of themselves who interact with a new generation of heroes that will be the focus of the new Star Wars trilogy of films. There's no word yet on whether Harrison Ford is actually confirmed, but it's more than likely the man with a blaster and the owner of the Millenium Falcon will return, since he expressed interest to come back as well (and likely Chewbacca will be there at his side too). Stay tuned for more news as it comes, and for more info, visit the source post at Enewsi and The Hollywood Reporter!

The new Star Wars trilogy begins with Episode VII on 2015!
