Superior Spider-Man: May Spidey Solicitations reveal the end of Superior Spider-Man?

Since the end of the "Amazing era" last December 2012 and the subsequent debut of a new kind of Spider-Man come January 2013, Marvel has left fans divided over the fate of Peter Parker and his alter ego with "Superior Spider-Man". Despite the change in the status quo, it's been a terrific run by Dan Slott, and his gamble has certainly paid off in terms of telling a wealth of interesting stories. I've picked up the first three issues (with issue #3 arriving this month), and the action and drama from the changes isn't showing any signs stopping anytime soon... Until now that is.

Jumping a few months ahead, Marvel and Comic Book Resources have released a preview of the May solicitations for Spider-Man related titles, and it teases what may be the end of Superior Spidey as we know him now... And the return of a very familiar to boot! If you don't know what's actually happening in the pages of the new ongoing series, it's SPOILERIFIC territory from here on out.

SPOILERS AHEAD, So look ahead at your own risk!

Looks like the end may be possibly near for Doctor Octopus' time as Peter Parker/ Spider-Man, as the solicits for issue #9 of Superior Spider-Man tots that the "time has come to see who will live, who will die, and who will emerge as the one, true Superior Spider-Man"! Could this spell the return of Peter Parker, who's currently still inside Ock Spidey as a "ghost" and trying to get his body back? Or does this mean that Ock will erase any trace of Peter once and for all and become THE Spider-Man forever and ever? Only time will tell for sure, but Marvel is teasing that fans will be even more in an outrage after all is said and done in this issue!

And as if that weren't enough, the next issue of Superior Spider-Man will see the return... Of The Green Goblin! Norman Osborn's back on the scene again... And Spidey isn't around to stop him! Is it Peter or Ock in the driver's seat? We'll find out soon come May! For more on the other Spidey solicits, visit the source post at Comic Book Resources!
