Batman: Arkham Origins Revealed

Fans that have anxiously waited for a sequel to the stellar Batman videogames that are Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City are in for quite the surprise, as the May issue of Game Informer has revealed the brand new game coming this fall and starring The Dark Knight once again... Batman: Arkham Origins.

Thanks to a report by Kotaku, and as teased and hinted through reports of domain registration featuring the title of the game and rumors that it will be set before the two Rocksteady Studios games, Batman: Arkham Origins is indeed a prequel, and will be the first game to be developed by a different studio, namely Warner Bros. Montreal. The cover to the game is also telling, featuring not only Batman returning (or appearing the first time in the game series' canon), but also a well know DC Universe villain and assassin... Deathstroke The Terminator!

The game will be available for the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC on October 25.

A spin-off game for the Nintendo 3DS and PS Vita called Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate was also announced, and will be developed by Armature Studios, featuring 2.5D graphics and Metroid style gameplay.
