Batman Vs Superman: Josh Brolin WAS in talks to play Batman/ Bruce Wayne before Ben Affleck

Even if we have a new Batman in the form of actor/ director Ben Affleck for the upcoming "Batman Vs Superman" movie for 2015, there was a time when anyone could have been Batman, and rumors suggested that one of the prime candidates was MIB 3 and Jonah Hex actor, Josh Brolin.

Despite what this nice fan art that's circulating the web may show, it didn't come to pass. Yet the man himself has officially confirmed via The Huffington Post (c/o Batman-News) that he WAS in consideration/ talks to possibly take the role, which would have been opposite Henry Cavill's Superman.

In the interview, Josh confirms he was considered by director Zack Snyder and Warner Bros, but just that.

"We did. I didn't have any conversations about it, but Zack, that was part of his idea. It just didn't turn out. It's OK. It is OK. You know, another scenario might have worked better, but I'm happy for Ben."

And there you have it. While Brolin didn't get the part, he certainly would have been a good choice following his acting chops in several films as of late. He did get to play a DC Comics character in the form of Jonah Hex at least (despite bad reviews for that film), and he'll be taking up the lead in Spike Lee's remake of the South Korean thriller film "Oldboy", which comes out this November.
