Jurassic Park 4 gets retitled as "Jurassic World" and set for a June 2015 release

After months since the last update and confirmation came to place, looks like Steven Spielberg's return to the world of Dinosaurs is back on track for 2015... And literally, it'll be a bigger emphasis on the word "world".

Announced by Universal Pictures, the new sequel to the Jurassic Park film franchise that was once titled "Jurassic Park 4" will now be called "Jurassic World", and will see Spielberg return on a producing capacity. Helming the new film will be director Colin Trevorrow, whose past films include the 2002 Home Base and 2012's Safety Not Guaranteed. Trevorrow also wrote the draft for the screenplay alongside Derek Connolly, though no details have surfaced yet on the plot for the film.

It's safe to assume that with the title "Jurassic World", the dinosaurs won't be limited to a park or an island... And may just explode into the global scene with catastrophic results ala The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Time will tell for sure how it goes, and with the rerelease of Jurassic Park in 3D giving us a taste of the conversion, the new film will be entirely shot in this format. Jurassic World comes to 3D and conventional theaters on June 12, 2015.
