Marvel Movies: Ant-Man moves up release date; Coming on July 2015

Looks like Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is coming a little bit earlier after Avengers: Age Of Ultron hits on May 2015!

In a move that's four months up from its scheduled release, Edgar Wright's film adaptation of the Marvel Super Hero Ant-Man has now made a new screen date of July 31, 2015! Previously, the film was slated by Walt Disney Pictures and Marvel Studios for a November 6, 2015 release, ushering in "Phase Three" of the MCU after Avengers: Age Of Ultron, which comes out on May 1st of that year. The move also puts Ant-Man two weeks after Warner Bros. Man Of Steel sequel and untitled "Batman Vs Superman" film, which hits on July 17, 2015.

The original Ant-Man, better known as Henry "Hank" Pym, was a founding member of The Avengers in the original Marvel Comics series, and was husband to Janet Van Dyne, aka The Wasp. The character would come up with several identities throughout his superhero career, including Giant Man, Goliath, and Yellowjacket to name a few. However, Hank Pym would be more closely associated with his original title and Giant Man, until a successor to the Ant-Man mantle came with former crook turned hero Scott Lang. How the film executes the origin or character still remains a mystery... But Hank Pym created Ultron, the main villain in The Avengers sequel, yet he does not factor in the film version at all. Time will tell for sure.

Here's a feature on the test footage showing the small sized hero in action.
