Marvel Movies: The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Trailer and X-Men: Apocalypse film announced

It's been a bombshell of a week of announcements and reveals for comic book based movies, and now two very big Marvel Film properties have just gotten their share of the spotlight. The next Spider-Man film by director Marc Webb finally gets it's first trailer, and Bryan Singer officially announces the next X-Men film... Which hits theaters on 2016!

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Trailer

As promised by Sony Pictures and Marvel Entertainment, here's the very first trailer to Andrew Garfield's return as Peter Parker/ Spider-Man in next year's "The Amazing Spider-Man 2", and boy is it a doozie! Check out and see if you can spot all the easter eggs, as well as Peter fighting not only to save New York City and Gwen Stacy, but face powerful enemies and secrets of his past that will mold his destiny as a hero forever.

And thanks to Bryan Singer's official Twitter page, we already have the announcement of the NEXT X-Men movie by 20th Century Fox and Marvel that'll come right after next year's "X-Men: Days of Future Past"!

That's right - X-Men: Apocalypse on May 27, 2016 - Two years right after Days of Future Past! What details may come from that are still obscure and anyone's guess, but could it be a plotline that carries directly from the 90's classic X-Men crossover event "Age Of Apocalypse", in which the immortal mutant conquers earth in an alternate timeline and Magneto becomes the leader of the X-Men after Charles Xavier's death?

If that's the case, it will be an awesome storyline to look forward to! For more information, visit the source post at Superherohype and Bryan Singer's official Twitter page.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 swings into theaters on May 2, 2014, while X-Men: Days of Future Past comes out on May 23, 2014.
