The Walking Dead: A certain dead character may come back after all *SPOILER*

After a long hiatus, fans will finally get to see Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, Carl Grimes, and the rest of the survivors back to continue their ongoing story of survival from the ravages of the undead apocalypse when AMC brings back The Walking Dead this Sunday, February 9. Things haven't been looking good if you've been keeping up with the show, and after the loss of The Prison following The Governor's attack, nothing will ever be the same again.

However, there's a new report that a certain character who for all intents and purposes is DEAD will be reappearing in the show, and it's no surprise who it is either. SPOILER WARNING either way.

You can't keep a good villain down... Even if he was seemingly shot in the head at the midseason finale.

As reported by TV Guide and Spinoff Online, it appears that David Morrissey will be back to reprise his signature role as the villainous Philip Blake, aka The Governor of Woodbury. After returning to assault The Prison and causing numerous casualties in the process, The Governor was put down by Michonne after she stabbed him to save Rick Grimes, and then as he lay dying, he was shot in the head by his lover Lily... As the undead entered the remains of the destroyed sanctuary Rick and his companions once lived in.

However, even if he may be dead, the possibility of The Governor appearing as a hallucination isn't far fetched. In Season 3 Rick kept on seeing his dead wife Lori (played by Sarah Wayne Callies), and also saw his dead partner and best friend Shane Walsh (Jon Bernthal) during the assault on Woodbury. So if that's going to be the case, Rick's going to be doing a lot of hurt mentally and physically before he comes back to his prime again.

The Walking Dead returns on February 9 on AMC.
